4th & Pearl Place

Welcome to 4th & Pearl Place!I'm a baby-boomer and I was raised in the best of times.I have fond memories of being at my Dad's gas station, guess that is why I love antique cars and trucks.I also have great memories of visiting my Grandma's house so I guess I can say the influence of antiques and vintage things caught my imagination.I love to cook (bake),sew,paint...do all things creative and "arty" and can't forget music an singing.

The Story Behind the Name ( 4th & Pearl)

The Story Behind the Name ( 4th & Pearl)
My Dad's Service Station-1950's in Lancaster,Pa.I spent allot of my childhood at my parent's business.I'm sure I got under foot many times, but I have many fond memories of being around my Dad and watching him work.I was raised around a business environment for most of my life so having my own small business seems natural.I love to paint, draw anything that is "art wise" I'm into.I worked many jobs, including for my Dad.One I really enjoyed was being a artist/illustrator for the US Air Force in Tx.I was still in college while I worked at the base, plus I taught art classes every Sat.I hope my blog will bring back memories of your childhood too.

Memories of my Parents ( 4th & Pearl)

Memories of my Parents ( 4th & Pearl)
Looks like my Parents sitting in the grass. My memories of my parents growing up is that of them being hard workers. They instilled in me to not be wasteful, conserve and use what you have.My art background has been useful in this area of recycling old lamps, jewelry, furniture and many other things that most would toss in the trash.I hope my blog will be helpful in the way that it will teach others how to re-do and fix things for your home.I remember the saying "waste not, want not".I enjoy taking a ugly lamp and re- doing it so it looks beautiful! My Mother was good at fixing and organizing things to look wonderful. My Dad was always fixing something that was broke.I admire my parents for being like this as I learned so much from them.
